He’s performed thousands and thousands of shows for children at preschools, libraries, restaurants and birthday parties across New Jersey and the greater metro area. He’s played several shows every year for the Summer Reading Program at the New York Public Library since 2003. He’s sold over 10,000 CDs, made many area radio appearances, and he’s the winner of the 2009 Hoboken Music Award for Children’s Music and the 2004 Children’s Music Web Award for a Classic Recording.

"Jeff began making music for young children while he was driving a bus for a special needs daycare in Morris County, NJ. Having two daughters of his own also inspired him to write songs and develop routines that engage children’s minds, voices, and dancing feet. 'The Orange Song,' 'Big Pterodactyl in the Sky' and 'Land of the Bouncy People' are well-known to young ones across the NY metro area. And at 6’6” tall, 'Big Jeff' is the BIGGEST children’s music act there is!" - from http://www.bigjeffmusic.com/bio/

Performances involve playing guitar and singing fun songs to kids of all ages. Being a well rounded artist, he also has several sketchbooks filled with his original ink drawings of local scenes that he can bring with him to the venues for discussion before, during or after perfomances. In addition to his music, Speedy will also have signed copies of the children's books that he illustrated: The Little Brook in the Field, a frog story, and The Adventures of Molly the Monarch Butterfly. In addition, Speedy will discuss his newest book: What's an Elephant Doing in the AuSable River? (This book won the 2012 People's Choice Award at the Adirondack Center for Writing in Blue Mountain Lake.) His preference is to play acoustically(no sound reinforcement),so smaller groups work out real good; however,if a sound system (with 2 mics) is available and needed for a larger group, he can adapt. Speedy's favorite age groups are preschool to about 5th grade, and he generally will play from 45 minutes to 1 hr." - from http://www.performersandprograms.com/results.cfm?region=6&region0=0&id=1415&category=cat0subcat0
