Houseplants and indoor gardening can enhance your life, especially in our northern climate!  Houseplants clean the air, removing volatile compounds that could otherwise cause respiratory problems and other health problems.  Seeing greenery and nature can also make you feel calmer, more relaxed and happier. Since we spend so much time indoors during the winter, it really makes sense to create an indoor sanctuary with houseplants, and even grow some of our food indoors.
