• Although some animals are not pets, they are utilized to help individuals such as in adaptive horse riding,  therapy donkeys, and service animals.  
• The State of New York has a great document that explains the definition of a service animal.
• Dogs are often used in libraries to promote reading as well as in schools to help with stress reduction.
• One way to learn more about all the different dog breeds is on the American Kennel Club's dog breed website.
